This timeless vintage Taxco sterling & amethyst necklace was created prior to 1948 by the mystery studio of AEM. AEM marks have been found on Rancho Alegre jewelry which was know at the time of it's operation as offering some of the best craftmanship in silver jewelry. The mark has been noted frequently in publications for Taxco, Mexico marks but as yet not assigned to a particular silversmith.
Details:
Necklace has a length of 17 1/2 inches and is 1 inche wide. Weight is 1 3/4 ounces or 50 grams. Markings are "AEM Sterling Mexico". The necklace is composed of sterling silver with natural amethyst and has a simple hook closure.
