This stunning vintage pre-Columbian motif sterling silver necklace has the hallmark for the studio of Carmen Beckmann. Carmen Beckmann was active in the 1960's and 1970's in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Most likely her jewelry was produced by a variety of silversmiths and her hallmark placed on the jewelry. The quality of this piece is apparent and there is substantial weight to the necklace. This design was originally produced in the "Los Castillo" studio of Taxco, Mexico. When worn, this necklace is sure to attract attention and compliments.
Necklace has a wearable length of 18 inches and is 1 1/4 inches wide. Weight is 364 grams or 12.75 ounces. Markings are "B 925 Mexico". The necklace is composed of sterling silver and has a tongue in box closure. The necklace has two links where there are dings to the center ball but not noticable when worn. It takes a deliberate inspection to notice the dings.
